The Story Behind Bonded

Over 15 years of lash artistry, thousands of individual eyes, and one simple idea: false lashes could be better.

Bonded didn’t begin with a product. It began with years of working with women’s eyes.

Before creating Bonded, I spent over 15 years as a professional lash artist, designing and applying lashes for thousands of clients. From salons in Chelsea and Belgravia to private clients across the UK and Europe, as well as work for television, film and editorial, my career gave me an incredibly close understanding of how differently lashes behave from one person to the next.

And that experience taught me something that ultimately shaped Bonded: there is no such thing as one perfect lash.

Every pair of eyes is different. Eye shape, natural lash length, facial structure, colouring and lifestyle all influence how a lash looks and feels. Understanding those differences, rather than simply adding more length or volume - has always been at the heart of my work.

From professional artistry to Bonded

Throughout my career, three things have remained particularly important to me: quality, application and aftercare.

I became incredibly particular about the materials I worked with, the softness and taper of fibres, curl, weight, length and how a lash actually sat against the eye. Application was never simply about adding more lashes; it was about understanding the individual eye and deciding where definition, length or lift would make the greatest difference.

As lash technology evolved, I became increasingly interested in why the same level of consideration wasn’t always available to women applying lashes themselves at home.

Traditional strip lashes could be beautiful, but weren’t right for everybody. Lash extensions required appointments and ongoing maintenance. And many convenient at-home alternatives solved the time problem while compromising on the thing I cared about most: how the lash actually looked on the eye.

I wanted to change that.

Why pre-glued lashes?

Bonded specialises in pre-glued lashes and pre-glued lash clusters, with the adhesive technology already incorporated into the lash. There’s no separate lash glue required, no waiting for adhesive to become tacky and no complicated traditional lash routine.

But convenience was only ever half of the idea.

We wanted to create a lash that saved time while still feeling like a premium beauty product: beautifully designed, comfortable, natural-looking and genuinely effective.

Every Bonded style is considered from the eye outwards. We think about fibre thickness, taper, curl, density, flexibility, colour and length. We test our lashes repeatedly before we even think about naming, photographing or launching them.

Most importantly, we don’t believe that more lash automatically means a better lash.

Our Natural Lash and Natural Short are designed for incredibly subtle definition. Our Luxury Mini Wings concentrate lift at the outer corner, while WING Xtend extends that effect across the eye. Other styles introduce more volume, texture or wispiness when that’s the desired result.

Different lashes exist because different eyes require different things.

Beauty isn’t one age, one eye shape or one woman

During my career I’ve worked with women across generations, and Bonded has been deliberately created with that breadth in mind.

Some of our customers want an almost imperceptible lash; others want volume. Some have hooded, deep-set or smaller eyes. Some have worn lashes for years, while others have never successfully applied a false lash before.

And as our faces naturally change with age, our relationship with beauty can change too. We don’t believe that means women become less interested in looking beautiful, nor do we believe in telling women what becomes “age appropriate.”

Our job isn’t to transform the woman wearing our lashes. It’s to give her better tools to frame her own eyes beautifully.

That’s also why we’ve created The Bonded Diaries: to share the professional knowledge behind the products, from understanding your eye shape and choosing the right lash to application, wear and safe removal.

We would rather give our customers enough information to understand what they’re buying than simply tell them what to buy.

Designed by women, for real life

Bonded is now run by two women, and that influences how we think about everything we create.

We understand wanting to feel polished without adding another complicated step to your morning. We understand wanting convenience without wanting something that feels cheap or gimmicky. And we understand the satisfaction of finding a beauty product that genuinely works for you.

We want a Bonded box to feel equally at home sitting proudly on your dressing table, slipped into your makeup bag or wrapped beautifully for someone you love.

As Bonded grows, the principle remains the same as it was when I worked one-to-one with clients: look at the eye first.
